Rev. Barbara A. Haigler was born in St. Matthews, South Carolina, where she graduated from St. Matthews High School.  She attended South Carolina State University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry magna cum laude. For 28 years she worked as an Experimental Chemist and was the Hazardous Materials Manager with Department Energy Contractors in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.


An ordained Elder in The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, she has served faithfully for years in a number of capacities.  In addition to having pastored Craigs Chapel, Mt. Zion and Speights Chapel A.M.E. Zion Churches, she has been the Administrative Assistant to Bishop Warren M. Brown and the late Bishop Milton A. Williams, Sr. Most recently she served as the Administrative Assistant to the late Bishop Roy Anderson Holmes. She has traveled to the Mozambique and Malawi Annual Conferences in Africa and extensively throughout the United States serving in various ministerial capacities.  A history maker, Rev. Haigler was appointed the first female Presiding Elder in the history of the Tennessee Conference in June of 2006 by Bishop Louis Hunter, Sr.  Prior to being appointed pastor (the first female) of the historic Broadway Temple AME Zion Church, she served as the Secretary of the Tennessee Conference as well as the Executive Secretary of the Presiding Elders’ Council of The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.


Rev. Haigler is known for her love of service, her sweet demeanor, and her spirit of excellence.  She is truly a woman of God who gives of herself and works tirelessly to serve and do the Master’s will with a Christ-like attitude.  She often says to those with whom she comes in contact, “No matter what my circumstance, I will bless the Lord at all times.  His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Rev. Linda P. Coleman Wright is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and long time member of Broadway Temple AME Zion Church.  She attended the public schools of Louisville, graduating from Louisville’s Male High School in 1971.  She received her B.A. in Music Education from the University of Kentucky in May of 1978.


Rev. Wright accepted hr call to the preached ministry on March 12, 2000 and preached her trial sermon on May 7, 2000 at Broadway Temple AME Zion Church.  In April of 2001 she was admitted to the Louisville District Conference and received her initial local preacher’s license.  She was admitted to the Kentucky Annual Conference on trial as a Traveling Minister on September 18, 2003 at Broadway Temple AME Zion Church.


Rev. Wright was ordained a deacon by Bishop Kenneth Monroe on September 23, 2006 at Brown Temple AME Zion Church.  Having completed the course of studies recommended by the Kentucky Annual Conference in June of 2008, she was ordained an Elder in The AME Zion Church by the late Bishop Roy A. Holmes on December 5, 2008.


Rev. Wright is the daughter of the late Ola Mae Lee and the late William E. Watson and is married to James Eddied Wright, Senior Deacon at the St. Stephen Church.  Her dream is to open a Christian Bookstore.  She believes that if you have faith in God all things are possible.


Bro. Robert Fredrick Boone, the son of Joel Hubert Mayes and the late Patricia Ann Mayes, is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. He is one of eight children, having three sisters and four brothers.  He has one adult son Marquise Boone.  He is married to Alkeshia Blackmon Boone.  They are the proud parents of one son, Noah.  Bro. Boone served his country as a member of the Army during the Panama conflict. An entrepreneur, he owns “Designed by Miracles Barbershop” located at 821 E. Broadway, Louisville, Kentucky.


An active and very energetic member of the Broadway Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Bro. Boone teaches the Adult Sunday School Class, leads the Evangelism ministry, serves as a Class Leader and willing assists wherever needed.  He is also the Assistant Director of Evangelism for the Louisville District and is a second year student at Simmons College of Kentucky.


Bro. Boone accepted Christ as Lord and Savior of his life during his teenage years and describes himself as a child of God and one that has been chosen by God.  To that end his declaration is “being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  (Philippians 1:6) Bro. Boone preached his trial sermon on September 29, 2013 and received his initial local preacher’s license in May 2014.
